The Treadmill is Here!

The new treadmill is finally here and it works!!!!  Yeahhhh!  They were due to deliver it on Friday but it turns out a mess up at UPS caused it not to be delivered before now.

I've been on the treadmill at my desk for about 15 minutes and it takes some getting used to.  I'm not used to it yet.  I'm going about 1 mile an hour which seems really slow to me but when I walk and look at the screen or look at the screen and type I get kind of dizzy.  It's getting better than it was at first so I have a feeling it's just something that I need to get more comfortable with and used to.

I've also raised my keyboard up to my desk top as that's more comfortable.  What's funny is that while I was standing on the treadmill that wasn't working it fit better at the lower level on the keyboard tray.

I'm going to keep at it for a while and see how it goes.

Yay! So, how noisy is the treadmill? Totally subjective, I know, but that's the one thing that I'm still a little worried about.

It's got a bit of a whirring sound when you stand and walk on it.  What's odd is that when no one's on it it's very quiet.  The whirring sound isn't too loud.  It reminds me of standing inside your house and hearing a lawn mower sound coming from a neighbor's yard that is muffled behind your windows.  You can hear it but it isn't annoyingly loud.  I talked to a couple of people on the phone while walking on it and they all said they didn't hear it.

I got the treadmill from Tread Desk.  I don't think it's a certain brand.  I think they make them themselves.  I never could find a regular treadmill that was just the base and module.  All the regular models that you can buy anywhere interfere with the desk.

I've had mine for about 6 months and I'm still really happy with it.  I've walked almost 500 miles on it since August.

Pretty great considering I could have just been sitting there instead!

I figured out a more appropriate answer to the noise question.  The sound reminds me of the sound of a dentist's drill coming from another patient's room.  It's a low grade spinning sound.

    Hi Kip
    Thanks for the update.
I phoned the company earlier this afternoon requesting info to buy.

Left a message but there is no reply as yet. Do they close in the winter?

I know they have a showroom so I'm pretty sure they are open year round.  They aren't a big company so my guess is the sales person may be out for the afternoon.  If I remember correctly, they close for the weekend so my guess is that you will hear back Monday.  If you don't, let me know.
