Treadmill Issues

As you know from my last entry the treadmill I bought had some technical difficulties.  The owner of Tread Desk, Jerry, called me back first thing this morning and was absolutely FANTASTIC!  He couldn't have been nicer.   Apparently the issue was that during delivery UPS dropped the treadmill hard on one side.  This caused part of the motor to lodge against a pulley.  This blockage prevented the tread from turning.  What's great to know is that they test out all the treadmills before they are sent to make sure they are working.

I had my friend Phil come over and thanks to Jerry walking us through it we were able to get the treadmill turning just fine.

Again, Jerry couldn't have been nicer or more patient.  Big kudos to Jerry for his help!  I wish all companies gave such great service!

Update:  the treadmill is turning but we did something to the electrical board while working on the motor and it isn't working.  It was working before so I think a wire got jiggled.  Jerry is on it and is working on a fix for it now.

Love to hear stories about great customer service! So, now that the treadmill is running - what do you think of it? How is the noise level? Is the deck cushioned at all? How does it feel to be walking and typing (assuming that you can type effectively with the keyboard tray too low.)

Sorry, I typed too soon.  It isn't running yet.  Phil fixed the blockage and the treadmill is turning fine but when I turned the treadmill on to walk on it, the console wasn't working.  It was working fine before so everyone thinks it is due to the fact that when we moved the motor to fix the blockage a connection wire got jiggled loose.  Jerry is working with the techs now to figure out what happened and provide a fix.  Even though it isn't yet working I have every confidence that it will be soon.  Jerry is very concerned and a real gem as far as service goes.

Even though it isn't working I'm standing on the treadmill to type and have been since the desk was installed so I can answer a couple of your questions:

Is the deck cushioned at all?
No.  The tread is flat on the metal.  There are cushioned padded very short legs which prop up the treadmill.

How does it feel to be walking and typing (assuming that you can type effectively with the keyboard tray too low.)
Obviously I'm not walking yet but I find it very easy to type at the desk while standing on the tread.  I've propped the keyboard on a box so that it's at a decent height.  I might have him put the new keyboard tray a bit higher than the box which I think should be a perfect height.

I'll do pictures now so you can see.
