Treadmill Desk - The Beginning

I've gained about 25 pounds over the last few years - the result of too many hours at my desk (I work from home and spend 12-16 hours a day at the computer) and too little exercise so when I saw this story on 20/20 about treadmill desks I was totally psyched and wanted one immediately. 

The idea of walking 5-8 miles a day without having to spend time separately exercising was really appealing.  Although I had a treadmill it was gathering dust so I thought it would be really great to be able to combine exercising with work.  Usually when I'm done working I'm too tired to exercise so a treadmill desk seems like a great way to kill two birds with one stone.

I'm a bit worried that I won't like it or it will be too hard to use but from everything I've read from people who have one that doesn't seem like it will be the case.  Some of my friends and family think I'm crazy but everyone who has done it seems to lose a ton of weight and if I can lose weight without putting a lot of effort into it I'm all for it.
